New photos added as they become available, from new construction to tournament play, the sheep, and hickory golf.  Enjoy!

A few course photos:

#2 Fairway Bunker.

#4 Approach.

#6 Green with rivetted (stacked sod) bunker.

"Principal's Nose" on #7 Fairway.  Third "nostril" is on other side of mound, barely visible on left.

FIRST DAY WITH SHEEP - June 21, 2010
These 2 photos by Glen Gayhart, OBGL Member

#5 Fairway.  It would appear that the sheep are rushing the golfer/Member/photographer, however, Bandit (not visible in this image) was herding them back to #4.

Sheep settled down, thinking about the bridge, looking back over their shoulders for Bandit...  Still on #5.

CONSTRUCTION SHOTS:

May 10, 2010 - Removing sod from #9 Green for reconstruct.

May 10, 2010 - Naked green, before expansion (#9).

May 11, 2010 - Green area expanded, drainage going in.

May 11, 2010 - Bunker construction.

May 11, 2010 - Another view of #9 Green construction.

GUTTIE BALLS

Handmade gutta percha logo ball.

Authentic 1890's mold used by Chris McIntyre to make our logo gutta percha balls, using gutta percha tree resin.

SUMMER 2009 PRINCIPAL'S NOSE CONSTRUCTION

"The Principal's Nose" while underway in #7 fairway.  Ground under repair.  (Ours is the reverse image of the Principal's Nose on #16 on the Old Course at St. Andrews.)

Shaping with sod and adding sand...

Amelia, age 7, likes to help add sand...

Amelia's friend Madison, age 8, helps, too!  (Her parents think she's here to play... Ha!  They are busy operating the Inn at Old Town in Bandon... See our Bandon, Oregon page.)

Bandit, our Border Collie, supervises the action.  We hope to have sheep for him to supervise before high season 2010.  He can't attend sheepdog training school until he is one year old.  That will be in March.
